Karin Turesson

My life is and always has been music. When I was a child I rushed home throwing my school satchel to one side drawn to the piano like a magnet. Playing the piano all started with Fräulein Fritsch as we were then living in Germany, and continued with Svea when we moved to Sweden. It was she who encouraged me to write music. I gradually got into music college, where I saw myself primarily as a pianist and songwriter. After music college I started working with Annalena Brundin and at the same time began writing music for other artistes as well as composing music for theatre, films and television.... I formed my group in 2002 consisting of voice, piano, string quartet, bass and drums. Ulric Johansson plays bass & Mats Persson plays drums. Both are musicians of considerable experience and have played with artistes such as Louise Hoffsten, Eva Dahlgren, Meja, Nisse Landgren och Roxette. The strings have been played by talented musicians from Malmö, Gothenburg and Stockholm, depending where we have played. My first album ”Källan” was released in may 2008 and was produced by Christoffer Lundquist. Maybe you have seen us at Kulturhuset in Stockholm, Skulefestivalen at Höga Kusten, Umeå Jazz Festival, Malmöfestivalen, Nefertiti in Gothenburg, Mejeriet in Lund, Fasching in Sthlm. As well as the band I have been doing a few other things: I have played with Annalena Brundin, Nina Persson (Cardigans), Robyn, Tingsek, Hello Saferide, Ebbot (Soundtrack of Our Lives). I have produced, arranged and played on Annalena Brundins CD ”Du är mitt begär”. I worked as pianist & composer at Helsingborgs Stadsteater, Skånska Teatern and Moomsteatern and I have written music for symphony orchestra. I wrote music for Swedish Television news programme and for adverts produced by Vision Recording, Pogofilm, Modfilm, Mekano Film & TV, Nordisk Film & TV, Atmosfär. I have written music for documentary films and animation films music as well as writing music for film director Roy Andersson. www.myspace.com/karinturesson eller www.karinturesson.com
Lina Nyberg

Here are what some of the internationa critics say about Lina "...brings a rare quality to the music that has become harder to find on the other side of the Atlantic: sensual maturity, candidness, and an admirable insistence not to comply with market rules which tend to target conservative and inattentive listeners. Nyberg, who has performed with some of the best Swedish jazz musicians (including Palle Danielsson, Anders Jormin and Esbjörn Svensson), can be playful, funny and smart. But on Tellus, she takes more risks and explores new frontiers. Tellus is Nyberg's eleventh disc as a leader and her second for the independent Swedish Moserobie label. She is accompanied by a triopianist Mathias Landæus, bassist Torbjörn Zetterberg, and newcomer Jon Fält, a member of Bobo Stenson's triobut she augments these fine players with some of the most adventurous players on the Swedish jazz scene..." Eyal Haeuveni AllAboutJazz.com "Theres something of Carla Bley in the avant-cabaret-jazz approach that Nyberg takes with this group. On Landala, a brief lyric introduction gives way to Per Texas Johanssons tenor saxophone solo and Broos overdubbed multiple trumpet lines. The passage would surely stand on its own, as would the free jazz finale to Beijing. Prepared piano and roiling low tones introduce San Saba, until a drunken swagger abruptly asserts itself, before reverting to the background, as Nybergs wordless chortles take the tune back into stranger regions of her world. Tellus is, however, rather all-over-the-map. Fragments of singer-songwriter folkiness (Pincio) and minimal art rock (Salwa and Berlin) creep in alongside atonal lieder. But Nyberg surely knows how to integrate what she hears, and the process goes beyond her own vocal lines." Clifford Allen AllAboutJazz.com http://www.linanyberg.se http://www.myspace.com/linanyberg
SOFIA PETTERSSON

Sofia Pettersson is a singer with an extra ordinary presence. Gifted with a natural frasing technique and lyric interpretation, she has created a very personal and intimate style. The critics rave about her and state, among many things, that ”her talent includes timing as well as rythm”, ”her voice has a beautiful sound and capacity” and that ”the singing connects with a natural, unaffected musical talent. Very appealing!” Further more Sofia has a ”artistic attitude which shows that she’s both a composer and artist” and ”a salute is in order for both lyrics and music” - ”Prophone have robbed the big record companys on something special” Now it’s time for Sofia’s 5th album which will be released on April 12th. Sofia has written all the lyrics as well as music, and produced it together with Per Erik Domargård. Her inspirations has been jazz and the singer-songwriter tradition, and the whole album has a new sound compared to Sofia’s earlier albums. One new addition is acoustic and electrical guitars by Erik Söderlind. Petter Bergander plays organ and Fender Rhodes in addition to acoustic piano. Ola Bothzén plays as always percussion apart from the drums and Tobias Grenholm on bass. Sofia began singing jazz in 1987 and in 1998 her first album ”Oasis” was released. In 2002 she released her 2nd album ”Slow Down” which got a very positive reception. In 2004, her 3rd album ”Thats Amore” came out, and was critically acclaimed as well. Apart from Sofia’s own songs, it included some well known classics from the 60’s and 70’s. Sofia’s 4th album ”Still Here” was released in 2004 and got the most attention of all of her previous albums. She wrote all the lyrics as well as music, and it was produced and arranged by Magnus Lindgren. ”Slow Down”, ”That’s Amore” and ”Still Here” have also been released in Europe and in Asia. www.sofiapettersson.com
Josefin Glenmark

Josefin Glenmark grew up in a musicstudio, with parents who were active in the industry. She recorded her first album (Children's music) at the age of 6. It still took her a while before she started to dedicate her life to music. It was after working and singing back-up for Robbie Williams (Escapology) and Linda Perry (4 NonBlondes) that Josefin gave in to her love for music and composing. When working as a demosinger for Robbie's producer, Guy Chambers, he recommended her to go back home to Sweden. To concentrate on her writing and singing .The decision wasn't a difficult one to make, after 12 years abroad. She was homesick and more so; ready to devote herself to music. Thanks to a composing scholarship, Josefin has been working on her debut album full-time. The first single, My Sweetness, was released summer 2008. " I am only in the beginning of a journey I have dreamed of and prepared myself for for a long time. Dreams due come true. It was an amazing feeling when I heard my own song on the radio the very first time. Hard work pays off. " www.myspace.com/josefinglenmark

Karin Inde
With three records in her own name and a warm-played band, the singer and composer Karin Inde is always ready to meet new listeners. In different environments. During the last years she has performed everywhere from the Culture Festival of Göteborg to German class in Valdemarsvik, from national TV shows to lunch break at the factory of Volvo Penta in Vara. Do you also need to hear her own expressive pop/jazz music? **************************************************************** At the age of fifteen Karin Inde almost was a world-famous jazz singer - in the whole town of Karlstad. She made the jazz of the 40’s and 50’s to her own and visited jazz clubs around her home region Värmland together with big Swedish jazznames such as Berndt Egerbladh, Lars Sjösten, Rune Carlsson and Johnny Olsson. **************************************************************** After those days of greatness she studied music in a lot of schools and then she had to search for a while. Search her way back to the fun in music again, and to the music of her own. The one that already started to grow when she was ten and got her first synth and drum machine at Christmas. Then under strong influences from the yearbooks of PopHits, Eurovision Song Contest and the Swedish TV show 'Bagen'. www.karininde.com
