About the Artists:

Alexis Baker

Alexis Baker is 18 years old and is a senior at Union Academy.  She has always loved to sing from her lead role in the second grade to winning first place in her school Talent Shows. She took voice lessons in eighth and ninth grade at Wingate University. She has sung in several school and community musicals.

In the past year she has begun taking guitar lessons and writing songs. Her passion has always been for music and singing and she hopes to continue to grow and entertain people for years to come.

Gena Chambers

Sierra Jean

Sierra Jean was born and raised most of her life on Long Island, NY in a town called Manorville. Her love for music started at a very early age when she sang at her first talent show at 6 years old.

In the summer of 2013, at the young age of 11 years old, Sierra Jean was discovered on YouTube by a multi-platinum music producer who wrote and produced 2 songs for her. She then recorded them at Paramount Studios in LA.

In December of 2013 Sierra Jean started working with Legendary Producer Kevin Dorsey (Kevin has worked with many of the top entertainers in music and film, from Michael Jackson to Motley Crue). Mr. Dorsey has since produced 3 of her songs and he directed her music video "SHE SAID HE SAID”,.

Currently, Sierra Jean is recording her debut EP, due out this May, with produces Romeo Johnson, and Kevin Dorsey.

Terri
Marie

Terri Marie is a native northerner but has lived in the Charlotte area for over 17 years. While she has spent most of her life singing, she's been playing gigs in the Charlotte area for 5 years and loves the local scene and massive talent here. Her influences and taste ranges widely and you never know what genre or decade her next song will come from.

Christine Morgan

Originally from Charlotte, NC, Christine is thrilled to be back in her hometown writing and performing!

Christine has been songwriting for the last 3 years and is so excited to showcase her favorite originals and covers. Her songwriting has been largely influenced by artists such as Sara Bareilles and The Civil Wars though it is uniquely her own sound. She currently teaches Voice and Piano to students at the Ballantyne School of Music and has been inspired by her coworkers to be more creative and take chances as a musician! Pop music has always been a great love of Christine's although her originals have some subtle folk influences as well. You can follow Christine on Facebook and Twitter (@msChristineMo) or contribute to her Freshman EP which she will be recording in Nashville this year by visiting her GoFundMe Campaign at: www.gofundme.com/christinemorgan

Zoe Rushing

Zoë Rushing is a 14 year old musician that has been playing for as long as she can remember. Her influences come from artists like Amy Winehouse to Frank Sinatra and Etta James. Growing up surrounded by music, she has always been singing but started taking piano lessons at Ballantyne School of Music from the age of eleven. She soon after began participating in the Jam Sessions hosted by the music school, and has not stopped since. She now takes guitar lessons and works very hard practicing music and working on her own compositions, mixing genres like jazz and R&B to rock and reggae roots. Zoë hopes to one day be recognized as an original artist, hoping to inspire a new genre of music.

Danielle Smith

As a Charlotte native, Danielle Smith is incredibly proud to be the assistant director of Charlotte's Chick Singer Night. This will be her second time performing in the Chick Singer lineup. A graduate of Catawba College, where she majored in Musical Theater, Danielle has been involved in music for most of her life. Following graduation, Danielle became a vocal/ ukulele instructor and Jam Session band manager at Ballantyne School of Music, in addition to serving as the school's Director of Events.

Throughout high school and college, her vocal training revolved mostly around classical genres, but after working with her vocal students and the Jam Session rock bands, she began to develop her own contemporary style. Her musical influences include soulful singer-songwriters like Adele, Sara Bareilles, and Sam Smith. Danielle is incredibly excited to share her passion for music with her hometown community through Chick Singer!

Haley Vogel

Haley is 14 years old, singing and acting in musicals is her passion, but she enjoys being the lead singer of a rock band, or singing with her Dad and Uncle who back her up with mad guitar and drum skills. She loves an open mic night and frequents Bella Love events and many local hot spots in the Keys when she is on spring break! She recently won Charlotte's Got Talent the Kids Edition at the Charlotte Hornets Halftime show! She was invited to perform with the Broadway Dreams Foundation in their NYC Showcase for 2015 at the Lincoln Center. She fell in love with NYC and hopes to make performing live a career!
